Your role as a Business Systems Analyst  

As a Business Systems Analyst, your role is focused on direct engagement with clients to gather and assess their business requirements, understand their current operational environment, and evaluate technological options. This process is crucial for identifying and recommending solution alternatives that effectively address their business objectives. We are in search of an individual possessing outstanding organizational and communication skills, passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex business challenges. Your primary responsibilities, which are not limited to, will encompass: 

  • Transform Business Needs into Technical Solutions: Skillfully convert business requirements into practical data models and system specifications. 

  • Workflow Innovation: Innovate and streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and simplicity. 

  • Tailor IT Systems to Stakeholder Preferences: Utilize technical expertise to adapt IT systems to fulfill stakeholder demands. 

  • Documentation Expertise for Data Processes: Efficiently create and manage essential documents for data migration and interfaces, including field mappings, validations, and gap analysis. 

  • Data Analysis for Quality Enhancement: Meticulously analyze data to identify and rectify quality issues and structural inconsistencies. 

  • Project Scope Management: Clearly define project boundaries and maintain proactive communication. 

  • Direct Liaison with External Partners: Effectively communicate with service providers and vendors, ensuring clarity in system requirements and adherence to timelines. 

  • Healthcare Data Analysis Specialist: Analyze and manage business requirements for healthcare data submission and exchange. 

  • Technical Problem Solver: Offer technical support to diagnose and solve integration and application challenges. 

  • Go-To Expert for Implementation and Development: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, guiding implementation and development teams. 

  • Development and QA Team Ally: Provide essential support to Development and Quality Assurance teams, contributing to various tasks as needed. 
     

Qualifications

Core Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of experience supporting information systems and/or software applications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or a solid technical foundation achieved via other means 

  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding service through direct client engagement 

  • Enthusiastic about using technology to create a positive difference in public health and healthcare 

  • A solid understanding and skill in using data migration tools and methods to move data between various systems 

  • Participation in the entire System Development Life Cycle 

  • Experience supporting information technology projects such as defining requirements, providing technical support, coordinating releases, configuring systems, identifying gaps, and conducting user acceptance testing with tools like JIRA and Confluence 

  • History of identifying and solving issues related to data quality and integration 

  • Ability to handle data migrations, including moving data from old databases to new ones, finding gaps in data, and suggesting solutions 
     

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with applications supporting health and/or healthcare such as Electronic Health Record Systems (EHRs), Electronic Medical Record Systems (EMRs), Hospital Management Systems (HMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, Medical Billing Software, Patient Portals, Immunization Information Systems or Electronic Disease Surveillance Systems 

  • Understanding of data standards, webservices, and APIs pertaining to electronic healthcare transactions such as HIPAA, HL7, XML, JSON, FHIR  

  • Experience in the health technology sector 

  • Understanding of public health systems, policies, regulations, and challenges 

  • Prior professional engagement with government agencies
